From the chilling to the audacious, here are five body horror movies you might have missed
Plot
A fading star takes a black-market drug: a cell-replicating substance that temporarily creates a younger, better version of herself. There’s nothing scarier than being human, and these movies fully explore the inhuman ways our bodies can betray us. Ray Liotta was cast in the film in February 2022, but he died in May of that year before he could film his scenes. He was replaced by Dennis Quaid, but Liotta is still mentioned in the director’s “Acknowledgements” during the end credits.
Elisabeth Sparkle: There was minor substance misuse
A bathroom mirror appears intact after being smashed multiple times during a fight sequence. Special thanks in the end credits go to the many extras on the stage who were covered in blood. According to the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) website, the version of The Substance that was released in UK cinemas was uncut (running a total of 141 minutes and 7 seconds), but the version released for home media was shortened by approximately three seconds (totalling 141 and 4 seconds). The BBFC has not stated what the cuts were..

Ultimately, you have to choose: your own beauty or the beauty with the monster inside. Growing old and unbeautiful is a natural thing. Becoming less famous and attractive are consequences of life. Be grateful for what you have, and dissatisfaction with what we have will only lead us to disaster.
