A retired CIA agent is haunted by both the agency he once worked for and his own nightmares, when an unknown man suddenly visits him after nearly three decades. Production was halted in March 2020 due to government restrictions. During that time, Jeff Bridges was diagnosed with and then treated for non-Hodgkin lymphoma. After recovering, the series went back into production. Bridges referred to the return as coming back after a “long weekend” on a podcast in July 2022. Featured at the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards (2024). I had high hopes, but 65% of it is over-the-top dialogue and reaction shots. We get the point, they’re scared/worried/angry. No need to over-hype. Episodes 1 and 2 showed promise, but it seems they didn’t rule out any editing to help lengthen the series. They should show this to the insomniacs who don’t respond to standard medication.
