Susannah Grant returns to direct and brings to life the script she wrote for Netflix in this romantic drama about writers, Morocco and the age gap
At this stage of her career, she can give us even these romantic dramas where she doesn’t have to play the best role of her career, but she makes us fall in love with a love story that fits her like a glove at her most mature stage. Being an acclaimed writer who falls in love with the ever-gallian Liam Hemsworth, who delivers a true character that we can empathize with and sometimes identify with.
The story has its highs and lows, but I think it balances out in the final summary
The couple isn’t overwhelmed with complete chemistry, but they allow us to validate their moments of romance and interesting dialogues, which are the film’s great strength. , giving us a drama that we enjoy spending time with, without demanding too much or having high expectations of what it will deliver.
It helps a lot that its director knows how to keep the pace and capture this world of writers looking for inspiration or finding themselves
As is often the case, it throws in some simplistic clichés, but in the end they end up being more of a contribution than a disaster that will benefit couples or fans of the genre as a result of the overall film, it delivers, has good moments and gives us a believable story. It is still a seen film with the right result, without any major audacity, with effective dialogues and romance that will leave all those looking for something new wanting more and those who hate simplicity hating it.
